THE SWEET STENCH OF SPRING.
Oh, baby, spring has sprung. At least it has taken to the air. I don't know where you live, but here in the catskills, the smell of spring is a stench.
I drove from home to A's school today at about noon. On the way I enountered....
The ripe field tempered stench of black angus cattle manure.
The unquestionably aromatic aroma of horse poop.
The exquisitely aged stink of deer carcass that has been under a three foot deep snow bank for three months.
The newly released perfume of the amourously inclined skunk road kill.
All this followed up the newly ripe reek of my goat barn.
OOOHHH, the stench of spring is wonderful.
And the mud, darling......
