I heard a news report today that explained that men hear women's voices differently than men's. They apparently hear women's voices with the same part of the brain as they hear music with thus it is much harder for them. This might explain why they don't hear most of what women say to them. I imagine this study was conducted by men and the excuse will suit their purposes just fine.
