DRIVE IN LUNAR ECLIPSE

The current mood of greenwitch at www.imood.com

moon phases

Back in November of 2003 A. was too sick to see a real live lunar eclipse. It was beautiful and I have been waiting for the one that would happen on a clear night and at a civilized hour. Tonight was that night. The only problem we hit was we couldn't see the moon when it first got dark out. It was riding so low on the horizon that the forest behind the house and the hill on the other side of the valley floor blocked it out. I decided the only solution was to get in the truck and find a spot where we could see the moon. We headed east into the rising zone and when we got over the hill on the otherside of the valley there was the red orb of the moon. We headed to the park which is an open flat area and parked to check it out. A. was thrilled with the whole thing and loved the adventure of being out at the park in the dark.

This is what we saw.....

A little glimmer of light at the edge seemed to pop into view like a switch was turned on.

This final picture was taken on the deck at home. The moon had gotten far enough off the horizon that we could see it at home. The fuzziness is some clouds that were moving in.
