Everyone I talk to seems to think that the vendor who wants the space rent raised and all the other craziness is quite literally crazy. It is gratifying to have the agreement but it doesn't make that person go away.
Funny thing about that vendor is that they are a "family farm" that is being run buy a brother and sister who are both school teachers. They have day jobs with tenure and benefits so the farm income is not so important to them. They joined the market as sellers of grassfed beef. Maybe the price of grassfed beef is a bit over budget for our area. They then got certified organic for produce. Getting certified is a very expensive process. They show up at the market with two small baskets of produce, maybe, each week. They bring jams and pies and salsa. The salsa requires a commerical kitchen for it to be legal which they don't have. Not that that is unusual at a farmer's market. Small farmer's often cannot afford to meet regulations in the beginning (look at me). So, I guess they are having a bit of a struggle. So that makes the desire to raise the space rent even more crazy.
K's theory is they are looking for something to blame to bail out of the market rather than just admitting it isn't working out for them.
Whatever their problem they sure seem rather nutty and it is leaking out into the enviroment in a most dangerous way.
In other news it has been raining yet again. I need it to be bright and sunny and maybe have a bit of glare coming off the snow. Just so I know what the hell month it is. I am very very unispired lately and that is not good. I just have too much to do to not be motivated.
Tiredness is another factor which is likely part related to the dingy weather. The bulk though is the recent hemorrhage which has fortunately stopped.
Sigh.
