Vulture out on the top branch of the dead tree out back yesterday. Sat there for quiet a while. I don't think there is anything dead back there.
Owl was hooting like crazy last night. Not the usual up beat hoots. These were more solemn, mornful.
It got windy and cloudy and nearly cold today. Winter is coming.
Lit a fire in the fire ring this afternoon. Just hung out and watched the trees and clouds. My feet got cold. The leaves are falling even though it seems to still be green. The oaks don't change until the end of the fall and then some keep their leaves until the new ones push the old off in the spring.
Stubborn oaks. There is no denying winter.
