What a difference a court date makes.
I spoke with The Mistress both last night and this morning. She finally had her day in family court yesterday. This should have originally happened back in November but her soon to be ex didn't show. So what happens in a case like that is it takes months for the rescheduled day to arrive. The court has ordered him to pay a nice sum each week in child support and said amount will be garnished from his wages. This is all good assuming he goes to work and actually has wages. The Mistress left the court and tried like hell to get her wedding ring off. It had been sitting on the same finger for over 20 years. She got it off finally. When a jeweler cut it off for her. So sans wedding band she went out on her first date and has another this weekend. All very exciting, freaky and new. She sounds so much better than she has for the past year or so. Her ex needed to be an ex long ago. His relationship with crack is more important than anything else in his life and he should only be allowed to drag himself down.
I need to go scrape the snow off the driveway. 'Cause massa too good for dat.
