FALL IN THE NORTHEAST

The current mood of greenwitch at www.imood.com

moon phases

Warning slower internet people. This entry is photo intensive.

It was a brightly sunny and wonderful day outside yesterday. The goaties were very happy to be out browsing with the favorite item on the menu being goldenrod.

Selena just couldn't get enough goldenrod into her mouth at any one time. I did find out that goats do not make alot of milk when pigging out on goldenrod and fallen leaves.

The grass in the bottom pasture is very green and lush after all the rain we were having. Too bad goats don't like to graze. They browse.

Selena and Chevee did try the grass though.

Today is another story. It is very cloudy and there is a misty drizzle that can't been seen but is felt. Actual rain is scheduled for tonight.

The cloudy days sometimes make the fall colors look better in pictures. The trees that look bare are not trees that lost their leaves already. They are the oaks that were devestaed by the gypsy moth caterpillers this summer.

The dogwood tree in the front of the house is always the best shade of red.

This year it seems a bit darker than usual. It also has red berries the birds love to eat.

The sassafras next to the kid shed is a very nice orange and yellow.

It is always fun to find orange and yellow "mitten" leaves in the yard each fall.
