There should be some kind of free arbitration/mediator who can help you & rman negotiate w/o reaming one another. My niece works as a divorce arbitrator & she is in your area, do you want me to inquire as to specifics?

Who's name is on the mortgage/ puchase & Sales Agreement? I hope it's just yours but if it isn't you can delay this until A is grown up.

Murder? Seriously, you are stuck in a hard place. I think the suggestion of a mediator is a good one. Could you get Rainman to sign off the mortgage and property if you don't ask for child support? Does he realize that the business that you have slaved over to create could be 1/2 his?...Maybe that is why he is hanging on. Wonder if your attorney could prove that you have been paying for almost everything and therefore, Rainman has provides so assets to the goat business. Could Dad sign a document that he gave you the money to pay the mortgage off and you support him now? I have no idea what paper trail you can develop which would take away his rights to half the property. On the other hand, could you get some type of time period to buy out his half....like 10 years!!
